T.I. TO SCALES 925 EMPLOYEES LAWSUIT…. YOU DIDN’T GET PAID AND THAT’S NOT ON ME!
I’m sure T.I. will be happy when his restaurant, Scales 95, which is now closed, is behind him. T.I. appeared in court on September 15th to face his former employees who are suing him for over $50K in unpaid wages and overtime, but it looks like T.I. isn’t going down with out a fight.
According to The Jasmine Brand, T.I. wants the entire case against him thrown out. He claims that wasn’t his responsibility because he didn’t have control over the management of the operations, he was more of a financial investor. He said he wasn’t in charge of firing and hiring people or the day to day operations.
He went on to saw that the lawsuit doesn’t provide specific details about how he’s to blame for this. He’s asking to not be personally held liable for their unpaid wages they claim they’re owed.
Before the restaurant closed a couple of months ago, T.I. and his business partner Charles Hughes were hit with the lawsuit by 12 former employees who claimed their quit their jobs and said that the restaurant refused to give them their last check.
They also said Hughes would sometimes write them checks that would bounce and made illegal statements to employees about the number of hours they worked.
