Margot Robbie Will Produce and Star in the Harley Quinn ‘Suicide Squad’ Spinoff
The Suicide Squad is making a return to the big screen and this time focused on one character. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie just signed a deal with Warner Bros. for a Suicide Squad spinoff centered around the sassy super villain Harley Quinn. Looks like you will have to put all hopes of a Jared Leto Joker flick to rest.
Although the official title has not been released, it is confirmed that Robbie will be playing the notable character and also take on the role of executive producer. Ready to begin the project, Robbie said, “I’m so not done playing her yet. I will do whatever I can keep playing Harley for another couple of years. Until my body gives out and I can’t do it anymore.” Robbie will also be apart of the drama, Terminal, a Tonya Harding biopic, and an adaptation of Matt Ruff’s psychological thriller Bad Monkeys. Her deal with the studio is apart of their “renewed focus,” to give a platform to female-driven stories.
